Denim on Denim

VINTAGE Denim Jacket
RAG & BONE Shirt

People always think it's hard to wear denim on denim. The key is pairing denim that are slightly different shades of blue. Of course, it's also important you keep the rest of your outfit neutral to avoid clashing entirely. I stole this vintage denim jacket from my Mom several years ago. If you ever need fashion inspiration, raid your Mom's closet (sorta joking). I like that the jacket is a little oversized. It hangs nicely on my body when I have a little more wiggle room. Because I'm doing denim on denim, I styled a white long sleeve shirt from Rag & Bone to keep the look neutral. I tied it in a knot to make the outfit a little more playful. This shirt is great for layering as it is semi-sheer. The back of the shirt is all rayon, which adds a nice detail.

But, my favorite piece of this outfit has to be my new Topshop mom jeans. I ordered these online without trying them on and was worried about the fit. However, Topshop never disappoints with their denim! These fit so well in all the right places. They are high waisted, which I always appreciate and the cute detailing on the ends is something different. Lately, I've been a fan of the light denim wash and these jeans go perfectly with the rest of my outfit. To complete the look, I wore my Rihanna Fenty Puma creepers. These shoes tie the whole look together so well. I wanted to add a bit of color, but still keep the look neutral. These sneakers are extremely versatile to wear with just about anything. I am a fan of the gum bottoms and of course it being suede material. Some could say this look could be Summer or Spring, but it can also be Fall in LA. Am I right? Take risks... you might pleasantly be surprised.
